How can I travel through metro in London from Heathrow airport to Perivale?

How can I travel through metro in London from Heathrow airport to Perivale? I am going to London for the first time and have no idea about it. I would be highly obliged if someone can explain me in detail.|||There is no direct tube train from Heathrow to Perivale, You're best off getting a bus and then a train, far more direct and a lot faster.

Head to Heathrow Central Bus Station. (this is well signposted from all terminals)

Catch the no. 140 bus from stop 19 and get off at Northolt Underground Station. (takes about 45 minutes)

At Northolt get on a Central Line train towards Epping.

Get off at Perivale.

The whole journey should take about an hour.

The following site has a journey planner for all of the London Transport network in case you want to look at other options. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/|||You could also get the Heathrow Connect overground train to Ealing Broadway and pick up the central line. You will have to change trains at North Acton to get the branch of the Central Line, but it may save you going all the way into London and coming back out to Perivale.|||SPINELESS NAZI has it right - if you use the Underground, you will be on the Piccadilly line, Perivale is on the Central line, and they just don't connect up unless you go all the way into central London and come back out again, which will take twice as long. I looked at the tube map http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/s鈥?/a> and couldn't figure out any other way of doing it.

So yes, find the Central Bus Station which is in the same area as Terminals 1-3, and find the stop for route 140. You can't get on the wrong 140 bus as it terminates at Heathrow Airport so any bus you get from there will be going the right way. The fare will be 拢2 (ALL bus fares in London are 拢2 however far you go!) and you pay the driver when you get on the bus.

It stops right outside Northolt station, and London buses now have dot matrix displays and recorded announcements to tell you what the next stop is, so you shouldn't get it wrong and miss it. Go into the station and buy a ticket to Perivale either from the ticket machines (if you can fathom them out!) or from the staffed ticket window. That will cost 拢3.50 even though you are only going 2 stops - such is Underground pricing policy! Go through one of the ticket barriers by inserting your ticket printed side up, brown magnetic stripe side down, into the slot marked "Tickets", which you will find underneath the yellow circle on the top of the barrier, pick it up when it pops out of the top of the barrier, and the barrier opens for you. Walk through and down the stairs to the platform. There is only one platform at Northolt and trains come along both sides of it. You want any train that goes from the platform on the right as you go down the stairs. It may be signposted to Epping, it may not - Central line trains don't always go as far as Epping at the far end and the posted destination may be Hainault, Debden or Woodford instead. The important point is to be on a train from the Eastbound platform. If it says West Ruislip or Ruislip Gardens on the front of the train, you're on the wrong side of the platform.

2 stops later, get off, and it's the same again to get through the ticket barrier at Perivale station. As it's a single ticket, the barrier will probably swallow it and just open as soon as you put it in.
