What is the cheapest way to travel to Toronto to NewYork?
I am going to Toronto in August and by the end of August we are going to NewYork. My bro research the cheapest travel but there was no luck. The travel is expensive, if i spend hundreds of dollars of that, I can't spend so much in NewYork. (Sadly)
Any suggestions by train, bus, or airplane? By anything?

How did people travel before railroads were invented in England?
I am going to take a trip to England and I wanted to know some of the history. I know that trains are a good way to travel there and I wanted to know what people did before trains were invented.|||Canals for freight, for about the 100 years before the railways were invented. Long distance travel there were stage coaches, though the roads were very poor. Otherwise there were horses, or people would walk, but the plain truth is that the vast majority of people never travelled more than 10 or 20 miles from where they were born in their whole lives - that's how we developed so many different accents.|||In very ancient times, they used pack horses along trackways.
Romans built straight roads which largely fell into disrepair during medieval times. Coaches linked the cities but it was a long hard journey.
The Industrial Revolution needed much better transport systems.
First came canals. A huge networks still exists. Boats can be hired and they are a great place for holidays.
Then came Railways. There was a vast network but many small lines disappeared in the '60's.
Finally, the roads were improved. All public roads are paved. Cities are linked by motorways (six lane highways).|||The motor car was invented after the train, but roads were around for horse drawn carriages. People used those, if they could. If not, it was all walking, or using a bike.
Roads back then were little more than dirt roads, but with some sophistication to them. They had layers of gravel and dirt, compacted to make a somewhat flat road surface, that would drain rainwater effectively as well.|||Umm basically people never travelled more than a few miles (which would be done by horse and cart, foot or boat) from their home for many centuries until the industrial revolution of the 18th Century which brought a massive migration from the small farm towns people had lived in for a millennia to the cities. The Industrial Revolution brought about the the invention of Richard Trethivicks Steam locomotive (first self propelled vehicle) and then the Stevenson's Rocket (first practical train).|||It depends on the period, actually. Horse travel, or carriage travel for the wealthy was certainly the norm. However, there were (and to some extent still are) thousands of miles of canals. Boat travel was the standard for most freight until the railways bankrupted the canals.|||Who told you that trains are a good way to travel in England ? , the rail network over here is rubbish with many cancellations for the slightest reason and it is also very expensive to use , before trains i believe that the horse and cart was very popular.|||They walked, rode horses, travelled by Stagecoach, used boats along rivers and around the coast. What is the best way to travel around Rajasthan in India?
I am an living in Delhi for the summer and I will have one week to travel around India. I thought the best idea would be to travel around Rajastahn for a week, and I heard there is a hop-on-and-hop-off train where you can move around different cities in the region. What is the best way to travel around australia?
So many choices! Contiki? Oz experience? Greyhound? To name just a few. I am starting in Sydney and plan to travel up the east coast then across to Uluru, alice spring and kings canyon. Then up to darwin before traveling down the west coast then across the south coast back to Sydney.|||The cheapest way would be by bus but get a ticket that allows you to break the journey anywhere you like. Driving yourself is not cheap. Petrol is about $1.30 a litre at the moment and it will be more expensive away from the cities. The route you have chosen will be about 20,000 km. petrol is going to cost between $1500 and $2500 depending on the car you are driving. You will need to take 4-6 weeks for the trip if you are going to see anything. Car hire will be $500+ a week so you are going to need $5000 - $6000 just for transport.
Don't stay in motels, stay in country pubs if you can. They can be remarkably cheap. They are basic but clean and you get to meet lots of locals. Pubs are also reasonably good places to eat although there are a few bad ones - but that applies to service stations too.
If you are driving yourself, carry at least ten litres of water. You can get a ten litre container of water in any supermarket. You probably won't need it but if you do, it's good to have it there.|||While the tour buses are nice, and they provide a great opportunity to meet other travelers, I prefer the "do it myself" route- rent a car. Driving in Australia is a pleasure. You can stop when and where you want, and you will meet a lot of great local people this way. Pub stays are inexpensive. The food and people are great. If you are a camper, there are thousands of options open to you along the way, and taking a tent in the car is easy and inexpensive. I have been on one tour bus (I will not name the company) found it to be okay, but did not like the regimentation. We hit a lot of truck stops for food. We slept sitting up. We stopped at the tourist traps that were scheduled in the brouchure (for about thirty minutes each...) and met the driver. With all due respect, and with no ill will toward the others on the bus, it would have been nice if someone else on the bus spoke a little bit of English. My Japanese leaves a lot to the imagination. I think the driver was as out of place on this tour as we were. Again, there are a lot of choices, and I am sure our experience was not the way it always is. We only do self drive tours now, when we tour.|||I have traveled throughout Aus with Greyhound for 3 months. It wasn't bad but the trips from Darwin to Alice Springs/Alice to Adelaide both about 15hours, insanely long. At times the bus was full, made 1 or 2 am connections at truck stops(that happened only once), make sure you bring something warm on because sometimes the air con is on full blast and your freezing. There were times where I took the train or I flew. I bought a Greyhound kilometer pass.......estimate the amount of kilometers you will travel and pay a flat fee. Made a reservation a night or two in advance before I departed from each city. If you have a YHA card you get a discount. I thought it was a good deal. How does a meteor or asteroid travel around the universe if there is no gravity?
If a meteor can reach earth or another planet traveling at tremendous speeds and fall by the gravity of that planet or earth, how or by what force does it travel?|||There is gravity everywhere, because gravity is "produced" by massive bodies, and the universe is filled with massive bodies. Gravity weakens at great distances from these bodies, but it never disappears.
Asteroids and the like move through space thanks to inertia鈥攌inetic energy they've acquired at some point in the past. Their trajectories are bent by gravitational fields produced by massive bodies such as planets and stars. As they move near to a star or planet, they are bent towards it. If they are moving fast enough, the pull of gravity from the other body can accelerate them (the other body loses some energy in turn). If they are moving slowly enough, they may be trapped by the gravitational field of the other body and enter an orbit, which they may maintain indefinitely.|||There is indeed gravity in space. Objects orbiting Earth are influenced by its gravity. The Earth is influenced by the sun's gravity, and the sun is influenced by the galaxy's gravity.
So asteroids are indeed influenced by gravity, and occasionally other forces.
The reason you can float around in space as though there was no gravity is because both you and your spaceship will probably have the same acceleration (unless of course the engine is turned on), so there's no "net" force inside the spaceship.|||It does indeed fall by the force of gravity. Gravity acts over enormous distances, farther than any other known force, many thousands or millions of times farther than the largest meteor orbit. Remember, gravity doesn't require a medium like air to travel through....all it requires is space.|||All bodies in the universe have gravity in themselves: it's a basic property of matter. All objects are influenced by gravity to some extent, usually by the most massive and nearest bodies to them.|||Meteors, asteroids, and anything else don't require any force at all to simply *travel.* A body in motion REMAINS in motion. Motion is the natural tendency of every physical body. Until acted upon by an outside force.|||The asteroids orbit the sun, there is plenty of gravity out by the asteroid belt and even out as far as pluto, otherwise pluto would not orbit the sun.|||There is gravity. The widespread opinion that "there is no gravity in space" is wrong.|||There is gravity.

Where should i travel to in China for more traditional historical interests?
Where should i travel to in China for more traditional historical interests?
I am looking for the long-historical traditions in China for a long time. Should anyone give me some suggestions about where to go?|||You must start with Xi'An, the first capital of China and one of the oldest civilizations in the world. Visit the terra cotta warriors as was mentioned above, but also don't forget to stop off at Banpo Neolithic Village (usually you can get these two as a package - they are both a good drive outside the city). Banpo village is an excavation and recreation of a 6000 year old village where you can still see the remains of huts and fire pits. You can see how the ancients fired kilns for pottery. It is really cool if you are interested in early humans.
The city of Xi'An itself has many historical sites, like the city wall that you can bike around (14km trip, rent bike on top of wall) It is a really wide wall with guardhouses and replica weapons along the way. Also, there are signs that show you sites and tell you interesting tidbits along the way. I would recommend it. Also, don't miss the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, and the pagodas.
The next most important place to stop is Beijing. You will want to chek out Tiananmen Square (just the size of it is amazing) before paying a fee and exploring the Forbidden City. This place is extensive, so do not think that you will only spend a couple hours and see it all. If you do only want to spend a few hours instead of all day, I would suggest getting a map and figuring out which buildings/parts you want to see first, then walk in a planned way. The architecture is amazing and if history is your interest, it might be useful to rent the audio guide.
You will also want to see the Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven. Temple of Heaven is peaceful and very park-like, but make sure you get there early enough to see the sections you want before they start closing at 16:00. There is also a good museum in Beijing, but I did not get to see it. Oh, and i would also suggest the Great Wall - Mutianyu section has a cable car up and down.
I would say that these are the two must-see cities in China for history, but if you have time and funds, you may want to think about seeing Nanjing (previous capital), and Shanghai (great museum here) with a day triip to Suzhou (old city on the Yangtze).
Hope this helps and have fun travelling China!|||Find more about this at:http://world24hours.googlepage鈥?/a>

|||If you are specially interested in history, then I would suggest Beijing and Xi'an. They both are famous for their rich history, as well as the places where the signature landmarks of China located : Terra Cotta Warriors ( Xi'an) and the Great Wall (Beijing). Xi'an has the fame of the oldest city in China, has been capitals for 13 dynasties over 2000 years, with 73 emperors buried there. Beijing has been capitals for 5 dynasties until the very last one: Qing Dynasty, over 800 years history.
There are 7 cities in China have the fame of ancient capitals: Beijing, Xi'an, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Luoyang, Kaifeng, Anyang.
Within these seven, Beijing and Xi'an are much more famous, accessible, and have a lot to see. Of course, if you have time and interest, it would be an amazing trip to cover all the seven ancient capitals!

How much wud it cost to travel these areas in a van using diesel?
I need to know roughly how much it would cost to travel from hartlepool to kesgrave, near ipswich to pick up a large item (sofa) and then travel back down to hartlepool, cleveland, in a large diesel transit van. I think its around 600 miles alltogether maybe just under.|||Disel is 拢1.03 per liter. I don't know how many liters you need to travel 600 miles but I will guss 拢390. Probally way out. What is the travel time between San Francisco and Mono Lake?
I am planning a weekend trip. One option is to bypass Yosemite altogether. Another is to travel through Yosemite and Tioga Pass, which is more scenic and appears more direct. Does anyone know the comparative length and duration of each route? Which would you recommend?|||I don't know the travel duration to go around Yosemite but it does appear that going through Yosemite is the most direct route and that is about 5.5 hours. The view in Yosemite is incredible and one that is worth seeing.
What jobs allow/require you to travel often and to many different parts of the world?

How much to travel agents typically cost?
I'm trying to plan a trip to Europe this Christmas. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to do all the planning by myself. I don't have very much money, so I'm wondering if I can afford a travel agent or not.|||Don't get a travel agent. You don't need one. Save yourself money and do it yourself. Travel agents charge you @ $20 for booking airlines tickets. Which you can do yourself for free online. And they charge you for booking your hotel they just add it onto the cost of everything else. Go to Expedia.com or Orbitz.com.|||You don't pay a travel agent silly! They are reimbursed by the airlines and other businesses they book you with, go ahead and call one!!
What percentage is a private jet travel cost to the total sales of GM?
Why senators make so much about Private jet and Executive Compensation? Sometimes it will be costlier to make the Executive Officers to travel cheap!. Why not pose the same question to the UAW? $150-$200 per hour is not road travel, isn't it?|||Its surprising as to how your question appears in a section meant for Indian questions only.
Coming to the point, US Senators like their political brethren across the world, will make sounds that reap rich political dividends, though much of that make little sense. They are cushioned against adverse economic impacts anyway and can make grandiose, sweeping statements to make headlines.
But, it is worthwhile to remember that the US economy like the economies in the rest of the world is in the throes of a depression, unseen for a long time. It is the responsibility of every responsible citizen to rise to the occasion and help the national economy return to health.
The US Government's effort to bail out major mega corporations from sinking is laudable. The corporate heads should show an equal measure of understanding of the situation and a resolve to fight the crisis. Coming to attend a bail out hearing in private jets and incurring exorbitant travel expenses, thereby burdening the corporation with steep avoidable expenses, is obscene at the hour. The picture such acts of irresponsibility send out, is that such C.E.Os are insular creatures with no responsibility whatever towards national well being. I understand that psychologically the average US citizen would be loath to see their taxes being spent on the creature comforts of a few.
And those who make road travels to hog headlines and force the government to shell out 150 - 200 US$/hour are no less culprits. Obviously, in the US democracy all are equal and some are more equal than the others.

How is it legal for a travel search engine to charge more for children than adults?
I just went to purchase airplane tickets on a big travel seach engine and discovered by accident that the price of tickets for two adults is much less than for an adult and child traveling together. I called the company and they stated this is done all the time. How can this not be considered discriminatory?|||Probably not, as businesses have the right to charge what they wish. However you can try another wholesaler online. Go first to www.bookingbuddy.com and from there choose options, Cheap Tickets, CheapOair, Cheap Air or Cone. In my experience these have the best fares. Compare.
Good luck !|||Well, first of all a "travel search engine" doesn't charge you at all. They just report available fares.
I would be wildly surprised if any airline were actually charging more for an accompanied minor than for an adult (or, on domestic flights, any less.) What I suspect you discovered was a change in fare availability between inquiries. Is it repeatable? I'd wager not.
The "done all the time" was probably in response to a misunderstanding. Consider the fact that you probably do not share a native language with the person you were talking to and it is in fact normal to charge extra for UNaccompanied minors.
By the way, not everything "discriminatory" is illegal, immoral, or even a bad idea.|||Try a different search engine or airline website. I travel often with my daughter and NEVER have had to pay more for her ticket than mine or paid more for her to travel with me. Almost all US domestic airlines charge the same price for children over two years old the same price as an adult, and I've never had to pay extra for my daughter, nor have I seen a higher price when booking for myself and her. Many international airlines still have discounts of at least 10% for children under 12 and some have discounts for older kids too.
Try a different travel or airline website, the one you tried isn't the norm. Try Kayak, I've always had good luck using them and they refer you to the airline or other travel site when you decide to make the purchase.
http://www.kayak.com/flights|||Child fares are the same as adult fares.
I recommend not buying from a search engine. But sites like
The Airlines: United, US Airways, Delta, Continental, American, AirTran, Southwest, Frontier
3rd party: Orbitz, Expedia, Kayak, Travelocity, Priceline|||No,it's age-wise not like they are charging more or less for your race or sex. If you don't like it then don't fly with them. Easy.

I want to travel to Europe on my own. What city is traditionally the cheapest city to fly into?
I would think that it is cheaper to fly into The Netherlands or Luxembourg or Germany but those travel sites are exhausting trying out different times and dates. I'd like to start looking with a little foreknowledge on the arrival city. Can you help?|||europe is expensive in general bro.

^that right there is a website with tons of "package" deals (air, hotel and train).. theres a 5 night italy package for $899, which is cheaper than a trip to nyc.
even if you dont opt for a package like the one above, this website WILL be of great use to you once you arrive in europe
http://www.ryanair.com
they have trips from rome to london for example for around 15 euros.|||Find more about this at:http://world24hours.googlepage鈥?/a>
|||There are a couple of options...
First, you can check travelocity.com and click on their "dream maps" feature. This will then allow you to check the lowest fares to a region from your destination city for a set date range. You can then click through to find specific flights.
Rather than using a company such as hotwire or priceline where the tickets are non-changeable and non-refundable, I would also look at a travel agent that specializes in discount airfares (also known as a bucket shop) since they often have access to bulk airfares that may allow you to fly cheaper. If you are a students, companies such as STA travel also often have good student fares.
Safe travels!|||The closest European city to your departure should be the cheapest based on fuel costs but that is not always true. In the 60's and 70's it was cheapest to fly the national airline of Iceland and take a stopover in Reykjavik. You might want to let a travel agent do your hunting since day of departure also affects cost.|||Fly into London and take a train wherever you wanna go. London flights are cheaper than the rest of europe by hundreds of dollars!!!! and trains are so cheap and easy to use in Europe. I'd definately recommend doing that if possible.
EDIT: btw I don't know if by alone you mean no friends are coming or you mean u really just want to do it alone, but check out contiki.com they have some amazing european tours for ages 18 - 30. How should I travel with Platies in the car?
I will be needing to travel in the car with my 2 platies for about 3 hours. I'm moving so I don't really have a choice about it. How should I do it so that they survive and also so that I don't get water all over my car. Also I'm assuming I'm going to have to empty the tank.|||The best way to transport them is they same way they come to the store where you bought them - in plastic bags.
Your fish store may be able to supply you with one, just fill it no more than 1/2 way with water and leave the rest air and tie off the top. If you can't get them from your fish store, I've used 1 gallon ziplock bags, but be aware these can leak. Double bag to be safe. I've then packed the fish into picnic coolers (I usually have quite a few fish to transport) but maybe one of the smaller styrofoam coolers would work for you. This not only collects the water if they leak, but insulates them from temperature changes. As long as the car is moving, the vibration will keep the water oxygenated.
As far as the tank, you will want to keep the gravel and filter media wet to prevent the beneficial bacteria from drying out. You can move all this into 5 gallon buckets with lids if you have a large tank, or just draw the water down so it's only just a little over the gravel and move the tank and all if it's a smaller one (I wouldn't try this for any tank over 20 gallon).
If you're moving in more than one trip, you can prepare some water the trip before you move the fish to have it on hand, otherwise, get the tank set up as soon as possible. Remember to acclimate the fish to the tank by floating their bag and doing partial water changes to ease their adjustment to any differences in the new water chemistry.
I've transported bagged fis this way myself for 5+ hour trips without losing any.|||if you go to one of your local petstores they will most likly be happy to give you a cupple of large fish bags. bag your fish, filling the bag about half full of water and half full of air, do not blow into the bag. then dubble bag them. they should be fine for the trip. as for the tank, drain all but enough water to just cover the gravel, but do not clean the gravel, then transport the tank, and set up at the new place

What is the best way to travel around thailand?
im landing in bangkok and am planning to travel down to Phuket. Please can you recommend away to travel. if anyone knows any routes from experience then please feel free to Tellme.|||You have a long ride on a bus or van or a much shorter ride in a plane. Up to you!
Too many tourists want to jump off the plane bringing them to BKK and hop on the next plane flying to Phuket - without even knowing what airport they are flying out of or even if they have enough time between flights!
Stay in Bangkok for a few days, you can book a flight when you are in Bangkok if you want. Some flights leave from Don Muang (DMK) and some leave from Suvarnabhumi (BKK.) Even in Bangkok you can get a tan just walking around. See Bangkok for a while, take in a couple tours, do some shopping and get used to the time changes and heat. Plan on the last night in Bangkok too so you don't have to worry about a last minute connecting flight being late and you miss your ride home.

How can i travel the world living different cultures like adventurers such as Bear Grylls and Bruce parry do?
I really want to travel the world, exploring different cultures and indigenous area's. I would love to do something like the adventurer's Bear Grylls and Bruce Parry do. I want to do that stuff because i love to be out in the open, especially seeing forest's and Mountain's.|||These guys were doing this for many years before they got the television gig. Bear Grylls spent three years with the British Special Forces and Bruce Parry attended Wells Cathedral School as a boarder between 1978 and 1987. After finishing at Wells, Parry was commissioned as a Royal Marine at the age of 18. Bruce Parry left the service as a lieutenant after six years. Both were experts at survival techniques long before they were commissioned for work by the Discovery Channel. Like most other television show series, someone decides on a format ( in this case it was surviving in areas most people don't even venture into ), and the search begins to find people who meet their criteria. There are hundreds of people who are likely qualified in the survival field, but you need a person that has the personality needed by the show. This will narrow down the choices greatly. There may have other "survivalists" more qualified, but they may not have wanted to allow someone else to place them in these situations for the sole purpose of hoping to make money for a television network. Unfortunately, these types of shows, like many others, become old and "have already been done", after a couple of years. Then the television networks move on to another subject. Most of the time, even the stars of these types of shows are ready for them to end also. We see a one hour show that likely took a month or two to film and edit. We don't see the many hours of filming where something went wrong, either for the main character or the film crew. These guys spend long periods of time away from their homes and families as they perform their "job duties". They soon get tired of having these "adventures" for the sole purpose of making a living. These shows are just like the "cooking" shows that were on for a few years. There's only so many ways the "average" person wants to be able to cook a steak! These shows are mostly for entertainment purposes. If you want to make a living doing this type of work, you should definitely look into some type of national armed services that employ these types of operations or training for the operations. Who knows, maybe in another 10 years or so, there will be another round of survival shows that will appear on the television, and we'll be watching AdrianK escaping from some snake infested jungle somewhere just in time to catch a ride on a helicopter! You're the only one that can make your dreams come true! Good luck!|||Get off your computer and get a TV show.
What types of jobs are there in the Travel and Tourism Industry?
For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to work in Travel and Tourism. I just love the idea of travelling the world. However, I don't really want to become an Air Hostess, or Travel Agent.
Can anyone give me a list of other careers in the Industry?|||Hello i have just taking the Travel %26amp; Tourism First Diploma at college as i though the same liked the idea of traveling. There are not many practical jobs in the industry as i have now found out . Your could work in a hotel which can have options to travel as you could work in a hotel anywhere in the world . You could work as part of a Tour Operator which can allow you to travel also.

What is the cheapest way to travel from the us to japan to korea and back to the us?
During the summer after graduating high school, my friend and I are going to travel to japan and korea. I wanted to know if I should do a roundtrip and just travel from japan to korea by boat or is there a cheaper way?|||Walking is not a option. Swimming would do the trick. Might even get you into the record books. Otherwise there are rather cheap flights from Japan to Korea. That would be my choice of options. But if you are determined to save money, bring your swim suits.|||Most people's first choice is to seek discount air ticket.
Between Japan and Korea, It might be the cheapest to take a ferry boat, if you are staying somewhere in western part of Japan Hakata, Shimonoseki, Tottori, Hiroshima, Osaka area and/or Buzan area (Korea).
It would cost about 125,000 WON (=113 US.Dollars = 9,000 JP.Yen), You can get discount if you purchase round trip ticket.
There are several lines. Here's one expample:

http://www.panstar.co.kr/eng/passenger/f…
I believe discount flight tickets Japan - Korea cost more than 12,000 JP.Yen (150 US.D.), so taking boat could be slighly cheaper.
But, you need to remember that Tokyo-Osaka bullet train cost 14,000 yen, and no boat from Tokyo to Korea. Taking boat take longer time. If you are visiting Tokyo; you'd better seek a discount air ticket as I said. People usually chose to take boat, not for economical reasons, but for fun.|||I have never heard of anyone taking a boat to Korea, unless your in the navy. Can an illegal immigrant from mexico travel to other countries if he returns to mexico?
Hello, I have a friend who is an illegal immigrant here in the US who wants to travel to other countries. He was brought here as a child from Mexico and now he is an adult. Is it possible for him to travel to other countries (Europe, etc)? Would he have to return to Mexico first? Can he get a passport here in the US (or from a Mexican consulate?)
He told me that he would have to stay in Mexico for ten years if he went back there. Is that true?|||he will have difficulty getting a visa to a western country
they dont want criminal in their country|||First off before answers are made here; read the question well. The person was brought here as a child! There's no crime under 18 and in some cases under 16. It is the parents. If you ask me, such laws are immoral. Survival of the Fittest. Do you blame a baby born with AIDS? Was he careless?
|||One sure thing is wherever he will apply for a visa be it a tourist or whatever type if he applies from the U.S the embassy will require that he proves his current status in the U.S and if he is illegal, they may not report him to U.S immigration but at the same time he can kiss his visa application goodbye. That's pretty much a general principle.
P.S. As a Mexican citizen, I believe wherever he stays in the world regardless of his status as long as he can prove his Mexican citizenship he should get a passport don't have to go to Mexico for that.|||He will be banned from the US for 10 years when he returns to Mexico. He would have to qualify for a visa to enter any other country unless he also plans to ignore their immigration laws too.|||if it he left voluntarily its 5 years

Is there a travel ban for the person who is not paying credit card In Bahrain?

I have no idea how the vast portion of folk have the wherewithal to "travel tremendously" and enjoy all of the vastness in the world. It does take lots of money. There are so many scenarios as to "why" they have that capability. What shall we then say to these things? If GOD be for us, WHO can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with BENEFITS, even the GOD of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. I wish you well. What are the requirements for purchasing travel health insurance?
I'm not asking for myself, but on behalf of someone else.
Is it true that, in order to purchase travel health insurance, you must already have health insurance?
What is the best way to get affordable travel health insurance?
Please no rude or mean answers... I appreciate any constructive advice that you can give. Thanks!|||For international travel, you can get very good plans at lower rates than you can get for domestic plans. Plans like the Atlas Travel Insurance plan offer protection like lost luggage, emergency evacuation, repatriation, and ad%26amp;d benefits in addition to the medical insurance benefits.
I am mainly a medical insurance agent so that's why I offer the plans, but you can get them online in minutes and get your card emailed to you instantly. You only need your passport number and the dates of your trip, and you can pay with a credit card.
Specifically to answer your question, you don't have to have any other insurance to get this, but this insurance won't cover pre-existing conditions.
I hope this helps.|||You pay the fee and you get the insurance|||I have one of those things they always refer to as " A preexisting condition " which could require medical help regardless of where I am and what I am doing. This means that when I travel to a country that does not have a reciprocal health care treatment agreement with the U.K.( they will treat ours and we theirs for no charge." I really should have good travel healthy insurance. In my case this is weighted because of preexisting and I usually have to pay about half again as much as other people. I usually purchase it direct from an insurance company rather that through my travel agent and this means that it considerably cheaper than many others do and that my policy is good for three months rather than a few days (always a worry if your return is delayed)..and because I make the purchase direct, the initial cost is much less than from a travel agent who would be paid commission for selling it.
You do not have to have any other form of insurance to buy this one and your can travel widely without it..but if you then become ill or suffer an accident during your holiday you can very easily run up bills that you have no means of paying..and be kept in hospital or denied departure from the country until payment of some sort is made.Even if the country you are in will provide free health care because of some agreement with your home country's government, it will certainly not be as good as if you were paying for it and will not offer you the chance of being air-lifted home instead of staying in a local hospital whee you may not even speak the language in order to make your symptoms properly understood.

Buy it, ask the seller what you do if you need to make use of it, keep it safe with your passport and leave photocopies of it at home in case you lose it..and then forget about it unless you need to use it.
How do online travel companies manage hotel bookings/availability?
Most people are familiar with online travel sites that allow you to book hotels directly (often at cheaper rates than through a travel agent, or even if you contact the hotels directly).
So how do the online travel websites manage their accomodation stock? For example, are they somehow connected in to each hotels room management system and thereby able to see whether rooms are available?
OR
Do the hotels offer up a block of rooms to each of the online travel sites for them to exclusively sell?
If someone works in the hotel industry, perhaps they might know.|||Hi,
The hotel I work for deals with several different online companies, and we do indeed offer them each only a few rooms. We are also able to do what is known as 'closing out' which means that if we are starting to get full we can go onto each website and tell it not to sell anymore rooms for us. This can also be done with a specific type of room so say we are starting to get full on double bedded rooms we can 'close out' on those but continue to sell the websites allocation of twin bedded and single bedded rooms.
Hope that helps.|||I think hotels offer up blocks of rooms to sites and adjust these according to how busy they get.
|||Jem G ! What a brilliant answer - I never understood how the system worked until I read your reply to this question. Uncle Rico - give that person 10 points ! lol !

How does lightning travel through the human body?
I'm looking for something very scientific and specific. What happens on a cellular level? Is it the water in our bodies that conduct the lightning through our bodies? Or does the lightning travel through our nervous system, jumping from neuron to neuron through electric synapses?|||just like it does when you stick you tongue into an empty light socket with it in the on position|||Electricity travels through all materials. The higher the resistance, the less the amount of electricity will flow. Things like glass have a very high resistance and the amount or flow is, for all practical purposes, zero. Most metals on the other hand have a very low resistance so electrical current flows through them very easily. The human body has resistance somewhere between glass and metal. I am not sure but I expect bone has higher resistance than flesh. Fluids with salts in them have a fairly low resistance. My guess is most electricity flows through the body's flesh and blood system and some smaller amount through the bones.|||As you may already know, lightning travels a route with the least amount of resistance. Giving the variables of where are you when lightning strikes? Under a tree, in your car, out on the golf course, etc. What things around you conduct electrical currents? Sitting in a lawn chair with a metal frame, position of your body (standing, laying down on the ground, stooping down with your arms wrapped around your legs, sitting in a car with your arm hanging out the open window) and the topography around you.
Our bodies have 10 systems that work all together for optimal health. A lot of our body is liquid (blood, saliva, digestional fluids, etc).|||It's pretty much the same as any conductor.

How do you travel by plane with a children antibiotic that requires refrigeration?
I need to travel with a liquid antibiotic that requires refrigeration. I don't want to put it in my checked bag because the airport I'm flying to is famous for loosing luggage. I was thingking of an icepack but I know when a friend tried to take home a lunch box with a blue ice pack that was in the original package she was forced to throw away the ice packs or leave the lunch boxes behind.|||The TSA specifically allows passengers to carry gels or frozen liquids that are needed to refrigerate medicatons onboard an airplane in carry-on luggage, as is noted on the TSA's website below. These items are not subject to the liquid restrictions -- you will not be asked to throw them out at security -- but they must be kept separate from your other carry-on items and declared at the security checkpoint.
Since you would be using them for an allowed purpose, the TSA would not throw away your ice packs (as opposed to your friend who had to throw hers away -- using them to cool food is not an acceptable purpose).|||Keep it refrigerated until you leave for the airport. I would suggest when you leave home, place the medication in a zip-lock bag with ice. That will keep it until you get to security. You will likely have to chuck the ice and bag before going through screening.
Once you get to the aircraft, as you're boarding, ask the flight attendant if they can keep the medicine in their galley refrigerator. If it's a small bottle or container, they certainly should.
I would also not worry about the medicine spoiling if it's not refrigerated for a short time. If you keep it cold, it would take a rapid high change in temperature over a lengthy period (like more than a day) to make it spoil.|||You should contact the airline, as they may have facilities to keep them refrigerated during the flight, and then you'll just need to ensure where your staying has facilities too.|||This is something you should be asking your doctor, or maybe the pharmacist from where you got the antibiotic.

Is the air travel advisable during the last 4 months of pregnancy? What might be the negative effects?
I've heard that after 6th month of pregnancy, its dangerous to travel by air coz of thge air pressure and shortage of oxigen. Further, it can result in pre-mature delivery, dont know whats right n wats wrong.|||I checked out the rules at three different airlines plus consulted with my doctor when I recently flew at seven months pregnant. The airlines generally do not allow travel in the last four weeks of pregnancy and the doctor said she could not see any reason why I shouldn't travel at seven months. As long as you're healthy and bp isn't elevated, you shouldn't need to worry. Just make sure to drink lots of water and sit by the aisle if you can, so you can easily get up and stretch. Also note that you are not allowed to sit by the emergency exits when you're pregnant.|||Most Dr.'s advise you not to fly in the last few months of pregnancy. There are risks not only because of air pressure and O2, but from stress and anxiety as well. Most significantly, if emergency medical service is needed, it can be hours before it is available, time that is very precious to a mother and unborn child.Childbirth has become a great deal safer in the last 100 years, but mothers and babies are still lost in childbirth every day.If there are risks you can avoid, by all means, do so!|||no i wouldnt recommend it to anyone and also could you imagine going into labour in a plain in the sky no way|||I always thought that their fear was that the woman might deliver in the air and get body fluids on their carpet.

How is the best way to travel with your bonsai?

The Eurolines bus is another option.
The train is cheap with a railpass, but expensive otherwise.
Flights really vary in price, but can be very cheap if you are flexible on where and when you fly since there are a lot of discounts at off-peak times. Just keep in mind that some cheap airlines use airports that are far outside of the cities they visit, and it can take a lot of time and money to get to them - I had a London - Amsterdam flight that cost $25 and took one hour, but the total trip from central London to central Amsterdam took a total of eight hours of traveling and $100 because I had to fly through Stansted and Maastricht airports - the cheap airline didn't use the real London and Amsterdam airports.

I am planning to travel a thousand miles soon so that my mom can see her new grandson. Can you please give me some pieces of advice regarding travel for newborns. I am really clueless since it would be my first baby.|||Hello sweetie :)

It gives lots of tips :)
and seems is not as hard as you imagine|||Immediately! Babies are free, you don't have to pay for their tickets, travel as much as possible until he gets to age 3, when you have to start paying for his seat! Sometimes they cry, but he will be O-K.|||I took my daughter on a plane at 5 months old.
1 - take the car seat! At the counter you can ask the clerk if the seat next to you is empty to place the seat it or try to see if they will work with you to get it that way. I never paid for a ticket with her and always used the car seat next to me
2 - bring a pacifier! infants don't know how to deal with the clogging in their ears - this is why children cry on planes, its painful
3 - try to get a flight time that goes around a time he would be sleeping
4 - bring something that will distract him. my daughter had these things that hung off her car seat. bright colors is what infants prefer
Take care of yourself as well so you aren't ragged and agitated. Don't let other passengers get to you. Some will rolls their eyes as soon as they see a baby. You cant control how he will feel on the flight. Nor can you control their feelings. Don't let it get to you. I considered myself extremely lucky, my daughter is an amazing flyer. I had people tell me later they didn't even know there was an infant on board because she was just so content. This is the exception - count your blessings should you be so lucky.|||most airlines have restrictions on flying with a new born, and want them to be around 2 weeks old (but check with your airline). It is safe to fly with a new born, but don't forget that they will experience the same as you with things such as air pressure changes. So I imagine it will be stressful!|||We flew from Germany to the States to visit our families when our daughter was 2 months old. She was fantastic on the way there. We requested tickets in the back, and they placed us right by the bulkhead so we could take advantage of the bassinet provided by the airline. It snaps onto the wall in front of you and will give you a break from holding baby for awhile. Our daughter slept in it pretty much the whole way there, coming back we had a lot of turbulence so she didn't get to use it as often. Check with your pediatrician about flying...it all depends on your baby and if he is ready/healthy enough. Safe travels!

How is the Best way to travel between Sydney and Melboune ?
I am going to be travelling from India to Australia in April ? Do you have any cheap flight options to suggest
Secondly , whats the best and cheapest way to travel between Sydney %26amp; Melbourne
Would really appreciate the advise and help.|||www.virginblue.com.au
or
www.jetstar.com.au
are the two budget airlines, but depending on how far in advance you book and how busy they are on that day, you could pay from between A$50 to $200 return.
Be careful if flying on Jetstar as you will want to fly to Tullamarine Airport. The other Airport (Avalon Airport) is miles from Melbourne (about 1 hr in the car and I don't think there is a train), so the taxi will end up costing more than the flight.
The flight is about one hour. There is also a train, which takes probably about 10-12 hours and might be a lot cheaper.
Driving will take 10 hours or so and will probably cost A$100-200 in petrol each way, but if you want to make a trip of it, the south coast from Bateman's Bay to Eden is well worth exploring.|||Train or bus|||Try www.birginblue.com.au or www.jetstar.com.au but be aware the jetstar only fly to a smaller airport outside the city - but still in to 'Melbourne' but not the normal Tullamarine airport. I would think this would be cheaper than bus as the bus may be a little bit cheaper in dollars but the time would be much more, a one hour plane trip compared to hours 10 to 14 on a bus! No choice for me! Also try www.qantas.com which can sometimes have deals which are as cheap as virgin blue and jet star! Happy travelling!!!|||I thinkmaybe the cheapest was would be to take a bus from the cbd in sydney to melbourne. I took it last year i think it was under $100 and about 12 hours. as for getting to aus if you can fly to bangkok or singapore the flights to darwin and perth are quite cheap (i flew bangkok to darwin for under $250 aus 1 way) and a flight from darwin to melbourne would be about $200|||I have done the trip on a bus but is 13 hours!
Check if there are low cost for this route: http://www.routehunter.com/airlines/aust鈥?/a>
Good luck and enjoy OZ!|||we flew on Quantas. Got our cheap flight and didn't have to pay a dime for the extra flight from Melbourne to Sydney.
try www.kayak.com or www.sidestep.com|||The best way to travel between Sydney and Melbourne is by plane, try Qantas, Virgin Blue and Jetstar.
If you don't want to fly you can drive in about 10 hours.|||Check you web sites for flights.
The cheapest way to travel is to hitch hike!!|||Virgin Blue or Jet Blue are cheap in Australia. Qantas is the best Australian airline and provide food and entertainment, to get the cheapest deals with them check out their website at www.qantas.com and look out for the red e-deals. You should be able to get a flight on Qantas between Sydney and Melbourne for about $AUD120-150|||Virgin Blue

What is the cheapest way to travel around Europe?
I am currently in Munich, Germany and want to travel around western Europe but everything seems so expensive. What are the cheapest modes of traveling?|||EURAIL PASS!|||Hi,
it depends on how much of Western Europe you'd like to see! EURail will probably work out as the best value way to travel, the low cost airlines won't get you out of the major cities - and I assume you'll then want to see spots inbetween without flying again!
The passes start from $49US for a single country, and finish at $475US for the total go anywhere you want pass. Visit http://www.eurail.com/ for a complete breakdown of what is available..
Being from England myself, I can tell you that things get pretty expensive there - I live on the south coast and a return train ticket to London costs the equivalent of $70US - so the rail passes are good value.
If you are going to the UK then I have read some good money saving articles on the travel blog site - http://roundmyworld.com
Hope this helps, have a great trip!|||Hitching:-)
Otherwise Ryanair (http://www.ryanair.com ) is almost just as expensive as the train nowadays. Actually, the train is not that cheap at all. Convenient though. There is also the bus (http://www.eurolines.com ).
Low cost airlines you can find on http://www.etn.nl/lcostair.htm|||Obviously by foot.

Is there a travel ban for the person who is not paying credit card In Bahrain?
I am an expatriate in Bahrain, and I am in little doldrums with credit card dues, since I was planning to visit my home country, after 2 and half years stay in Bahrain. Is there a travel ban for the person who is not paying credit card? Since, go visiting home country invites expenses , I will clear all the due after coming back in Bahrain . I will appreciate your advice.|||it is possible, banks can and do get travel ban(s) for non paying customers, but usually they do that if the customer stop paying for some time and after calling the customer several times "if collection dept called you probably have a travel ban"
if you leave and come back without paying first you may get a ban on your next entry to the country.

The late payment charges + interest wil be several times what you have to pay now.|||:) im Bahrain and live in bahrain and not only that i work in a bank and im sorry to tell you that no you can not travel when you stelll did not pay your debt, i know that it's summer time and you see most of the people travel and stuff but you have to also look at the situation that you are in and its for your own good that you do not go any were this year have a plan and target, save money don't get stuff you don't need and then after steeling down you can have the vacation yu always wanted|||As for the advice
How can you even think of going to summer vacation when you are in debt and have credit card dues! Just to let you know you will be haunted by the company till you pay every last penny, and you will pay more than you owe. So get yourself out of stupid credit card debt, get serious, get real, take responsibility, and pay back your dues.

No, there is no travel ban

What is the best month to Travel to Bahamas and Orlando?
Hi, I am planning to travel to Bahamas Cruise for a week this year. What are the best timings to travel to Bahamas and Orlando Area in Florida?|||It kind of depends on what you are looking for. I assume you are traveling from Port Canaveral for the cruise. Rates will be lower during value season, which is during hurricane season. I've never had a problem during hurricane season, so it is not something you absolutely have to avoid.
If you are planning to go to some theme parks while in Orlando, than you will want to go when school is in session. The crowds will be lowest. So the best time is in Fall, Winter or Spring. The weather is also nicer during this time, these are the most enjoyable times to go.
Hope this helps!|||Winter is the best time.
|||Anytime but hurricane season which starts in July and goes thru to December. It rains all the time.|||The best time to go is during the winter months. It is much cheaper for you and who ever else is going.|||As a general rule I like to go the last week of April through the middle of May for several reasons. It's not Hurricane Season. It isn't too hot but still warm enough for everthing in the water. Spring break is over for everyone and Summer vacation hasn't started yet, so you aren't going to deal with either of those crowds. Fishing is good that time of year, my personal favorite hobby. That's my opinion (leaving on cruise in 36 days).

What is the cheapest ailrline to travel on from Texas to North Carolina?
I have never flown to North Carolina and I am just curious of what the least expensive airline would be to travel there. I am intending on traveling there from Texas next month.|||Depends what are of Texas you're in. Out of Houston, Continental or Southwest. Dallas, America West. San Antonio is usually Southwest, but is sort of a cr*p shoot.|||Thanks! Hope you enjoy your trip.
|||American Airlines. Use any of the sites like expedia/priceline etc and you would see that AA would be the cheapest.

How do travel agents check hotel availabilities?
I know that travel agents have various IATA systems (SABRE used to be one of them) for checking airline flight availability.
But how about hotels?
I mean if I tell my travel agent I want to stay in a one bedroom room in
City X between dates Y and Z, how does the travel agent find out what is available?
Is there something similar to the airline reservation system, only for hotels?
What is it called?|||It depends on the agent. Some will fax, call or email the hotel they have contracts with to check availability. Other companies - the larger ones - will have a pre-bought or pre-assigned quota of rooms from the hotels they have contracts with and will usually have an internal computer system similar to Sabre to check the availability of their quota. When I was an agent, we used to make the bookings by fax and email as we specialised in independent travel rather than package holidays. Phone calls don't really cut it as you need to receive confirmation in writing. Now, some hotels have online booking systems that allow registered agents to access a special agents' area and book that way - technology is a wonderful thing.|||Hotels are available through the major airline reservation systems. In the US, they are Sabre, Apollo, and Worldspan. Amadeus is also used but is much less common. In the pre-Internet days, that's how we did most hotel reservations.
Some reservations are made by phone and fax because the airline systems don't always have last-room availability. Some agents also use the Internet.
Some third-party websites, such as Expedia and Hotels.com, have special pricing arrangements with selected hotels. The fares and inventory for these are kept in an internal database or through a direct link to the hotel company's computer system. However, the non-special rate hotels are booked through the airline systems.
The major airline systems also have car rental and train information.|||Its called a computer. Yes its like an airline reservation system|||there lots of websites for checking this out
including the hotel group's own website|||**picks up phone**
